Plane sprints & yarn bombs 

IMG_9005  It’s been a whirlwind week since we got back. We only JUST GOT BACK though.

I don’t miss traffic jams, that’s for sure. We set off for Brisbane airport in plenty of time, but got stuck in a 25km traffic jam (due to a crash). We arrived at the airport at 8:55am. The flight departed at 9:30am. I was convinced that we had missed it. The gate was already loading the next flight. We asked a staff member. She had to call the flight tower. The only reason we got on that flight was because the flight tower had not yet received the plane’s departure paperwork. Phew! Seriously too close! So, bye bye relaxing airport breakfast and hello airport super sprint!

But it’s ok, the rain and 9 degrees in Dunedin cooled us down sufficiently!

It took me a while to recover from my lost 2 hours sleep due to the time difference, which seems mad considering all the intercontinental time hops I have done in the past!

It’s the last week of the Southland arts festival this week and I love this neat idea: yarn bombing! Te main shopping street in town was bombarded by graffiti knitters! Such a neat and unique idea!

On Sunday, Rugby Park was open to the public: this is the first year in its history that this has happened, because the council have only just taken over from a previously private owner. Pretty impressive stadium for a provincial side, and nice to be able to look around: excited for the start of the season when our names will be stuck on our members seats!
