Spring has sprung, or has it?

IMG_9605The weather has been rather up and down this week, as have I. Earlier in the week the buds on my garden were covered in frost, but by the weekend it’s hammering with rain, and then sunny and warm. Got to love Southland!

Now I’m working from a separate premises my work hours seem really long. I go to work at 6:30am and am not often back till after 8pm. I’m going to address that this week. It’s been a tough few weeks setting up shop and getting on an even keel after the launch, but I know that I need to get the balance back to an even keel. Timetabling mid day off time is the key I think.

There’s a number of things I have stopped doing.

  • Blogging
  • Swimming
  • Walking in the park
  • Cooking
  • Scrap booking

To name a few. I need to get these back and the only one that can do it is me. Draw a line Mel. Take your own advice!

I went for a walk to Queens Park from work on Thursday afternoon. It’s actually only 5-7min walk so I think I’ll make that stroll a regular pit stop. The thing with being your own boss is there’s no one to tell you to take a break, so if you’re not careful, you don’t!IMG_9637

This week’s job is to restore the regular ten minute park walk time out during the week.

I coached a track cycling session at the weekend, a lovely change, and wow didn’t they do well. I was so proud of them. I’ll definitely add that to my schedule more regularly! I love the nature of variation and hear so much sadness from others who dislike their jobs. I consider myself very fortunate indeed, although the route to this point has been a very very tough one and it’s not easy yet, even.

The weekend ended with a lovely orienteering stroll in Queens Park, reminding me how peaceful it can be, I do need to get back to that. Mark asked had I taken photos? I asked what he meant. He said ‘well you usually do when you’re in Queens Park?!’ Funny you mention that, because, yes I did!
